Description
Sweet Iron bits are known for the mouthpieces having a sweet taste. The bits are anatomically shaped and are available in many types and sizes.
This double-jointed snaffle contains rings made of solid stainless steel and a mouthpiece made of mild steel combined with a Sweet Iron layer on the mouthpiece (blue). Saliva production is further encouraged by the Sweet Iron layer on the mouthpiece. When this material reacts with moisture, heat and air it oxidises and develops a sweet-tasting surface rust. This helps with acceptance of the bit. Eventually the blue colour disappears, but the taste of the surface rust remains.
The anatomical shape follows the shape of the horse's mouth, which enables gentle and even pressure distribution. The Magic System combines the flexibility of a jointed bit with the control of a mullen mouth. The exclusive design prevents injuries to the tongue and palate thanks to the locking function. With a double-jointed bit the mouthpiece consists of three parts, with the middle part lying flat on the tongue. This creates more pressure on the tongue than with a single-jointed mouthpiece. The stronger the centre piece, the more pressure is applied to the tongue. The mouthpiece is 14 mm thick and the bit rings have a diameter of 65 mm.
